Twiss International BV organized a seminar in cooperation with Emmen Municipality and the International Trade Expert Centre Of NHL Stenden, University of Applied Sciences in Emmen.
The goal of the seminar was to inform the participants about the opportunities of doing business in Vietnam now that the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement will be ratified in 2019. It was also organized for the participants of a small scale trade mission to Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam that will be organized by Twiss International in cooperation with Emmen municipality from 4-9 March 2019
First the mayor of Emmen, Mr Eric van Oosterhout, shared the internationalization strategy of Emmen and the reason why he will join the mission.
Second Dr. Nguyen Duc Tri from Ho Chi Minh City and expert in the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement spoke about the opportunities the Free Trade Agreement may bring to entrepreneurs from both the EU and Vietnam. He focused on logistics and recycling.
Next Rick Melenhorst who runs a business in Alstroemeria flowers talked about his experiences in joining a Trade mission and finding a partner through one of the missions in Vietnam, organized by Twiss International. He has been doing business in Vietnam now for the past two years.
Dr Jan Jager, Associate Professor at NHL Stenden PRE, talked about applied research in the circular economy and on the opportunities for Dutch recycling companies in Vietnam.
Mrs Francoise van den Broek, specialist in supply chain management and Business Developer in Vietnam, informed the audience on the vast economic developments in Vietnam and the opportunities of cooperation this brings for Dutch and Vietnamese companies.
Mr Flin Veenstra, Business Analyst at NLinBusiness gave a presentation and informed the participants that NLinBusiness is there to support Dutch companies that want to export or capitalize on opportunities in global growth markets, one of which is Ho Chi Minh City.
Mr Simon Dousma, Managing Partner of Twiss International BV and the organizer of the Seminar and Trade Mission, monitored the seminar and shared his views on do’s and don’ts of doing business in Vietnam.
At the end of the seminar the participants were invited to network and enjoy an Asian meal at the same time
